Girls Golf Of America

Girls Golf of America is about equity of opportunity for girls golf development in the United States. Girls Golf of America was founded in 2007 and their vision can be encapsulated by the following quote by LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan, “I think 50-50 participation is not only achievable, but inevitable in junior golf. If we stay focused on LPGA-USGA Girls Golf and continue to partner with others who can fuel this momentum, we will change the face of our game forever.” Girls Golf of America set out to develop an improved environment for girls to compete in, having grown frustrated with the failings of the common junior girl’s golf competitive experience.

Girls Golf of America is about creating opportunities designed exclusively towards the needs and wants of girls golfers by providing a comprehensive girls golf competition pathway progression across the United States. One of the main ways they do this is through the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour (PKBGT), an all girls tour.

The PKBGT, by using innovative, yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional, age-based format, focuses on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The tour is divided into three paths: the regional, national, & national championship tracks, offering 9, 18, 36, & 54-hole tournaments. The proven PKBGT Progression Pathway  allows players to compete against peers of their own skill level at appropriate yardages helping them grow at their own pace.

The tour has grown to over 1,200 members across the country leaving a lasting impact on each as they graduate to the next level. Over 1,500 PKBGT alumnae have moved on to play collegiately and over 25 competing professionally. In 2024, we had our first alumna win on the LPGA Tour, Bailey Tardy at the Blue Bay LPGA! Girls are the priority on the PKBGT and we are excited to continue our expansion efforts in the years to come.

Girls Golf of America has created a sense of community in the girls’ competitive space by bringing together golf associations, PGA sections, companies and groups interested in the development of girls & womens golf. They are continuing to transform regions across the country and have seen an increased participation in section events, high school golf and overall participation in the current regions they serve.
