United States Adaptive Golf Alliance

The U.S. Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA) serves individuals with disabilities by creating opportunities to play golf by modified rules and equipment, access to instruction and competition at all levels. Founded in 2014, the USAGA has grown from five founding member organizations to 46 across the United States and provides adaptive golf to 40,000+ individuals annually. The goal of USAGA is full inclusion and a level playing field to allow all individuals’ abilities to shine!

The USAGA is founded on three main pillars: Teach, Play, and Compete. The Teaching pillar includes adaptive coach training for golf professionals, therapists, and willing volunteers to provide this great service to individuals with disabilities., The Play pillar includes clinics and hands-on adaptive golf instruction tailored to golfer’s abilities. Additionally, fundamentals such as balance, posture and swing path are also taught. It also consists of on-course experiences with standard and adapted golf equipment. The last pillar, Compete, allows individuals to compete in 37 Tournaments hosted by the USAGA member organizations across the U.S. following the USAGR guidelines to create an inclusive event consisting of 15 sports classifications.

Jonathan Snyder, the Executive Director of U.S. Adaptive Golf Alliance, an adaptive golfer himself, originally got started in his golf career for love of the game, which led him to become the General Manager of Red Bridge Golf Club just outside Charlotte, NC, before he ultimately found his passion in helping and inspiring other adaptive golfers learn the game he loves through the U.S. Adaptive Golf Alliance headquartered just outside of Chicago.  The reach of USAGA has only begun, learn more about USAGA, how you can donate and get involved by visiting the link: https://www.usaga.org/.
