Morris County Golf Club

Morris Township, NJ

Formed the same year as the USGA in 1894, Morris County is one of the most charming golf environments in the country.  It has the distinction of being formed, founded and originally run by women.  It was the first club in New Jersey to host a National Championship and the Seth Raynor designed golf course is, not surprisingly, a true gem.  The four-leaf clover logo with the year of origin and crossing clubs is simple but that’s also its genius.  The clover also embodies the good fortune the club has achieved despite trying historical circumstances like multiple fires and financial distress to survive and thrive.  In a state very deep with history and great golf courses, Morris County is quietly among the best.  Its original vision set forth by a group of bold women, the Raynor golf course, the stately clubhouse built in 1919 and the underrated setting in Convent Station section of Morris Township, NJ make MCGC a distinctively special place.  The clover is a winner.
