Dave Baysden Art

Dave Baysden began seriously pursuing his passion of artwork in 2015. What began as a childhood passion, became a creative outlet away from a job that had him constantly in front of a computer. Eventually, those paths led him to the golf course – a game that he never saw being a big part of his life. His journey began with a few small paintings while sitting on his couch at the end of a long day and it has progressed to having his art pieces published on a golf travel blog, Seamus headcovers carried by Matt Kuchar around Augusta National, art work in Caddie Magazine, Catalogue18, and McKellar Magazine, and a mural painted in downtown San Francisco.  Baysden now also paints roughly 4-5 member events a year, where he paints artwork for the winning teams.  One of our personal favorites here at 5 Clubs Golf, is a recent painting Baysden created for our Golf Channel set. Another highlight of Baysden’s is one of his originals now hangs in the new Ghost Tree Grill at Bandon Dunes.

In addition to his paintings, Dave is also a founder of a faith based golf organization called Restoration Club. Their mission is to bring men together through golf, encourage them in their Christian faith, encourage them as men to be better husbands, dad, men, and have it all be based in the relational time on a golf course. He has also become the creative director and designer for a new golf accessories brand – Handcrafted Golf where he does all graphics work for headcovers.

When asked about his journey and career, Dave says “My career has been super fun because I don’t feel like I’ve sought this out, but rather I’ve been led to find and follow my passion for creativity that I was created with.  In a sense, I let fear keep me from my purpose in life for a long time and now I get to Paint, Illustrate, Design Logos as a way to support my family, but also as a way to encourage men to do life together.  I’m SO grateful for the game of golf and that I found golf and art, though a pretty late start in my career timeline, it was the right time!”
