As one of the five clubs that was part of the original construction of the USGA, we at 5 Clubs are particularly partial to the logos of those members as our name pays homage to those clubs. Chicago Golf Club is original in so many ways down to their distinctive red and white logo. The golf course was originally designed by the grandfather of golden age architecture in the United States, Charles Blair McDonald, and his chief engineer Seth Raynor is the only one to give the course a touch up after McDonald’s death. The club is the first 18–hole club in the United States and has the distinction of hosting USGA events in three CENTURIES! Located in Wheaton, Illinois the golf course features template holes which have always stood the test of time. The clubhouse is not some retrofitted tricked out posh hang, it’s a relic oozing with timeless charm. The Chicago Golf Club logo is original and would simply be impossible to duplicate. The figure in the seal looks as if he’s swinging a baseball bat in attire reflective of the time the club was opened. The most distinctive aspect of the logo is the phrase, ‘Far & Sure”. It’s from a bygone era, but it is their phrase and no way it could be duplicated by any other club. Finally, the seal is just that, it’s a bonafide seal that works on stationary or a cardigan sweater. Chicago Golf Club is a one of one and the logo is reflective of its truly original character and reputation.
